Generic Systems Australia Company History

Hello there. Welcome to our site !!!. We will keep this little bio brief so here are a few details about our company for your edification and so you have some kind of idea who we are and what we are all about.

Generic Systems Australia was formed in late 1993 by Bradley Copson and began trading in April 1994. He had been working as a Mainframe Product Manager and in Software Sales for Goal Systems International (since 1987) and subsequently Legent Corporation. Legent bought out Goal Systems (much to his dismay) and a large Software Company subsequently gobbled Legent up. Standard practice in our industry as you all know, especially during the late eighties and early nineties. At the time of forming the company, the three director’s thoughts were that there was still a lot of life in the Mainframe market, something that still prevails today. With this in mind we pursued and gained exclusive distribution rights to quality Mainframe products, some of which we still distribute today, including new partners such as Vanguard. iSeries wise, a decision was then made to venture into that particular market around 1997, as we believed (as we still do) that that particular market had not really been tapped at all and in fact is still growing today. It is a still a significant contributor to our company's revenue stream.

The philosophy of this company has always been to do business in a fair and ethical fashion, with no exceptions, and that is the prime reason that not one cent of revenue has EVER been written back in 15+ years of business or any type of legal action brought against us. A claim not many Systems Software suppliers could make as I am sure you would agree………

So today we stand as a company based in North Sydney, Australia that is looking to spread itself Enterprise Wide and expand our product portfolio to embrace the I.T industry changes we are all confronted with nowadays while still remaining 100% committed to the Mainframe and Midrange markets, our core business. Just in case you are not aware, hundreds of companies (Banks, Government Departments, HUGE hardware and Software suppliers, and many large Public and Private companies) in Australia and New Zealand (and some in Asia) use, or have used, our award winning products since 1993. Without giving away specific financial information, the company turns over millions of dollars annually with not one cent of debt or any liabilities whatsoever. We have 50 plus clients in Australia and NZ. A guaranteed safe bet if you choose to deal with us. We intend to remain a small, united company that provides top quality Systems Software products with excellent friendly service and 24/7 Technical Support.

We also have 24/7 access to development staff in the case of technical emergencies. If you call us something will be done in other words. We have no desire to go down the path of larger companies where you can never get access to the person you really need or consistently get the voice mail of people that never get back to you, unless you want to buy something !.
